Here at Perth Hypnotherapist, we feel that purpose gives us energy, insight, and meaning in our daily lives. Living without purpose can be draining. When you work in a job that does not inspire you every day, this can lead to feeling drained and dissatisfied. Eventually, you will get burnt out and frustrated. Sometimes, working in a job that does not inspire and engage you can cause you to feel like you are functioning like a robot, doing things without emotion. You also find yourself procrastinating a lot because you’ve lost your passion.
Some research about purpose found that lack of purpose or goals is one of the reasons people procrastinate. They’ll delay or dismiss some tasks because they don’t have the desire to do them.
Whenever I do something without purpose and clarity, I tend to lose my passion halfway through it. Many times, I’ve drifted away from my goal because I didn't have a clear purpose or outcome.
As a Hypnotherapist and NLP Trainer, I have set goals a lot over the years and I know firsthand that Hypnotherapy and NLP Coaching are very powerful tools to get the goals that you want to make for yourself. The last five years have been very different - I have found my purpose. Finding your purpose is so much more powerful than goal setting. I have clarity and I am in a flow achieving the outcome that I designed for myself. Currently, I am doing my Ph.D. in performance – Reclaiming Wholeness and Agency through embodied Performance after Intergenerational Family and Domestic Violence.
I designed the course for myself using all the things that I loved - even if they challenged me, where the end result would be me choreographing a performance with women who have lived experience of FDV and putting myself and my lived experience of FDV in the performance as well.
I chose Choreography, Dance, Theatre Games, Improvisation, Somatic Practice, and Feldenkrais. Every time I had a Feldenkrais session, I was giving myself nourishment and self-care. Every time I ran a Theatre Games workshop, I stepped out of my comfort zone until eventually facilitating became comfortable for me. The same for the Improvisation classes, at first it was literally terrifying, and along the way improvising became joy and inspiration. Also, along the way I made a lot of creative friends that I love hanging out with. I completed this performance in December 2022. It was wonderful to achieve this goal. This goal challenged me more than anything I have ever done before. The beautiful thing is that in the framework of the course, I had lots of time to complete each part and it all came together. Now, to fully complete this project I need to focus on my writing, and get the exegesis finished by April 2024.
Finding one’s life purpose can be a challenging task, but there are several ways to approach it. According to Greater Good Magazine, fostering positive emotions like awe and gratitude can help individuals find purpose in their lives, as these emotions are tied to well-being, caring about others, and finding meaning in life [1]. Verywell Mind suggests that finding purpose in life can lead to a sense of control, satisfaction, and general contentment, as well as a feeling that what one does is worthwhile, which can be a significant key to a happy life [2]. Psychology Today highlights the physical and mental health benefits associated with having a life purpose, such as a lower risk of disease and better sleep.[3] Overall, finding one’s life purpose can provide a sense of meaning and place in the world, leading to greater happiness and well-being.
I can help you design and achieve an outcome that is connected to your purpose that would make your heart sing!

What do I want?
Why do I want this?
Is this outcome for my highest good?
